sand the part down..get it smooth
PRIMER IT
and spray it!

topcoat to finish the job!

i've experimented with this before. it would have been more successful if i actually had a work bench to do this on... windy days suck for painting light plastic parts.. thats all i'll say.

i never actually have done this to my own
but i've done it to a friends car b4 years ago
hahaha

its not hard..but having a orbital sander shaves off hours and hours of labor

orbital sander for interior parts dont need uber expensive 100dollar one
a 30-40 dollar CanTire Mastercraft sander is enuff
they are made for woodworking, so it spins fast enuff for the plastic anyways!

Custom spray booth is a necessity.
I don't ever airbrush anything without a spray booth = =
